MAYAN is intended to provide Unitarian Universalist youth advisors with a place to go for information, to ask questions, and to collectively share ideas, wisdom, and resources.
The MidAmerica Youth Advisors Network (MAYAN) will work to promote development, growth, and empowerment opportunities for Youth Advisors in the MidAmerica Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
The Three Pillars of MAYAN’s Purpose:
- Supporting and providing a network for nurturing the spirit of Youth Advisors in the MidAmerica Region.
- Providing resources for those Youth Advisors to help make their local programs the best they can be
- Helping to support and nurture a healthy and sustainable environment for youth ministry to occur in the MidAmerica Network
The MidAmerica Youth Advisor Network is dedicated to high-quality youth programming in the MidAmerica region of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The underlying belief is that high-quality youth programming is only achieved through nurturing, supporting, and empowering the adults engaged in youth ministry. They, in turn, will nurture, support, and empower the youth of our denomination.
MAYAN is a community of adults engaged in youth ministry, designed to provide guidance, encouragement, and information to its members. Members of MAYAN are committed to providing high-quality youth programming in the MidAmerica Region by supporting each other’s emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs in regards to the work of youth ministry.
